Lifting spirits and engaging minds through meaningful activity.
At Rawhiti Estate, wellbeing is about more than just clinical care. It’s about living well, with opportunities to connect, move, create and enjoy each day. That’s why the Remuera-based aged care home invests in a vibrant and inclusive activities programme, designed to cater to the interests and energy levels of all residents.
Led by four full-time diversional therapists and supported by part-time team members, Rawhiti Estate’s activities calendar is both comprehensive and flexible. Each day, residents can choose from a wide range of options, including chair yoga, group games, craft sessions, music therapy, van outings, and more. Across the facility, up to ten activities may run at any one time. There’s always something to get involved in, if and when residents feel like it.
Larger seasonal events, like Halloween concerts, Christmas celebrations, and staff performances, are great fun and help build the sense of community, as staff and residents join in together. Leticia and Richard explain that participation is optional, and residents’ personal preferences are always respected.
